Bennett & Dunn cold pressed Rapeseed oil is produced by husband and wife team Rupert and Tracey Bennett. They are seed to bottle Rapeseed Oil producers. The Rapeseed is cold pressed, triple filtered and then hand bottled by Rupert on the farm. Our oil is GM free, Gluten free and their production process is chemical free, this ensures their rapeseed oil retains all of its health benefits and delicious flavour.
The seed is harvested on their farm in late July, dried, cleaned and stored in a purpose built seed store to keep it in perfect condition until processing. Their cold pressing method is a traditional technique which gently squeezes the oil from the seeds - the gentle process ensures the full flavour and helps preserve the oil. The oil is then triple filtered and bottled by hand on the farm. Absolutely nothing is added during the process.
At Bennett & Dunn the seed is grown in an environmentally friendly way, with the farm providing a good habitat for insects, small mammals and birds by preserving and planting hedgerows, maintaining ponds, building beetle banks and creating wild flower field margins.
Bennett & Dunn is a zero waste business. Their by-product, called Rapeseed Cake, contains all of the Rapeseed Husks after they have pressed the oil. This is sold to a local cattle farmer as animal feed.
All of their packaging is either reused to send bottles through the post or is sent to the local recycling centre.
Cold pressed Rapeseed oil is said to have the lowest saturated fat content of any culinary oil and less than half that of olive oil. Rapeseed oil is rich in Omega 3,6 & 9 and is a high source of vitamin E. Latest research shows Omega fats are essential for heart health, general wellness and to help maintain a healthy immune system.
Bennett & Dunn rapeseed oil is safe to cook at a high temperature with a burning point of 230c. It contains no artificial preservatives and is trans-fat and GM free. No heat involved. No additives during filtering.
