The Walled Market Garden
Based in a 2 acre Victorian Walled Garden just outside Abergavenny the Walled Market Garden or Gourmet Gardeners have a plant nursery and productive kitchen garden.
They grow a wide range of beautiful plants including edibles, medicinal herbs, cottage garden plants and cut flowers.
Their produce is grown using organic methods without chemicals or pesticides, and using their fresh ingredients they make a range of seasonally flavoured condiments including, preserves, cordials, pickles and ferments. Inspired by their crops they create artisan food consisting of sweet and savoury tarts, gourmet salads and cakes as well as fine dining tasting menus.
Produce grown includes vegetables, herbs, salads, soft fruit, hard fruit, edible flowers, cut flowers and microgreens. All their produce is grown using organic methods with open pollinated varieties to encourage bees and butterflies and biological nemotodes for pests.
As well as growing traditional high yielding varieties they also grow heritage types along side for better flavours and unusual collections including Oca, Chinese Artichokes, Mashua, Goji Berries and Vietnamese Coriander.
